Primary Job Responsibilities
With over 250 million user searches and millions of new items every day, eBay has the largest ecommerce search engine on the web. As a member of the Finding team, you and your products will have massive impact, literally affecting millions of users around the world. The extended Finding team at eBay is responsible for several of eBay''s most important and exciting product areas including search, browse and merchandising.
As a Product Manager at eBay, you are responsible for planning and executing site features that enable the success of eBay. You will work with product, business and engineering counterparts to create and manage the business and product strategy for eBay''s Finding and Merchandising initiatives that enable the world''s largest online marketplace. The primary area of focus for this role will be to help drive the team''s Merchandising and Domain-specific Shopping initiatives but may also include work on other Finding-related projects. - Define product and platform requirements including writing PRDs and working with business managers, engineers, QA and user interface designers to bring those features to life - Work with business units across eBay to develop product roadmaps and product strategies to ensure eBay meets its goals - Understand and evangelize the needs of the eBay user community - Analyze the external marketplace, customers, partners, and competitors to determine the right feature set for eBay partners/affiliates and the community - Manage these factors across the lifetime of a feature or product
Job Requirements
2+ years of software or Internet product management experience focused on customer-facing web sites.
Background and understanding of ecommerce, search engine technology, ad networks and/or affiliate marketing
Highly organized with very high attention to detail
Experience with UI design for software or web products
Experience guiding the development of highly intuitive user interfaces for complex applications.
Strong analytical and planning skills.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Proven track record of defining product requirements and shipping successful products
Education
Bachelors Degree or Equivalent
