I attended a MPG -- Managing Personal Growth--training program. It takes 2 days and costs USD350. My company paied for it and I don't need work during these 2 days.
The MPG program asks the trainee to identify the top 5 values from the list (Achievement, Advancement, Adventure, Competitiveness, Cooperation, Creativity, Economic Security, Fame, Family Happiness, Freedom, Friendship, Health, Helpfulness, Inner Harmony, Integrity, Involvement, Loyalty, Order, Personal Development, Pleasure, Power, Recognition, Responsibility, Self Respect, Spirituality, Wealth, and Wisdom), and align them with your job.
Ideally, after these 5 values are indentified, it becomes easy to make decision based on them. I really doubt a person can stick to the same 5 values as circumstances change.
