i suggested in one of my linkedin updates that, for all the troubles we've gone through, each every shanghai resident should get a free pass to expo 2010. the wish comes true, sort of. shanghai city government is sending out free expo gift pack to each shanghai household. we receive it this weekend. it includes one expo pass (cny160), one public transport ic card (with cny200 value), and a haibao pin. it's smart move, qualified household is family based on hukou card or shanghai residence permit, and single is not included.

阅江楼 建于2001年，号称位列江南四大名楼，当然单凭楼阁的始建年代，是有点勉强。整个楼阁可登六层，宏伟雄壮，顶层可以凭阑远眺，南京长江大桥，长江尽收眼底。因为年代新，还有从山下直达楼阁的电梯。本来是个很好的建筑，可惜可惜，里面被一巨幅公厕水平的郑和下西洋瓷画给彻底废了。搞得老同志也不知道说什么好，只好写下到此一游做为纪念。 2001年的时候，大概已经是人心浮躁的时期，景区周围有一通碑廊，竟然不是刻的，而是黑底白粉画的! 不仅是画的，而且画得很差！急功近利的下场，只有快速的被淘汰。
