I stared my stamp collections since I was still in primary school in 80's. It was definitely one of hottest habbies in China back then, Unfortunately, Philatelic Corporation got greedy and released stamps in crazy quantity and batch, but relatively low quality. Stamps became colorful wastes in late 90's. Philately itself also faded away like many other stuffs such as cassette, vidoe tapes. If you ask young kids what is philately, or even what is stamp, they might have no idea at all. I went to the largest collections exchange market in Shanghai today, and sold almost all my collection o stamps. Interestingly not sure how the exchange system works in this market.. Stall owners ask if you have something want to sell when you pass by. They are eager to buy your collections at a fairly low price. They must have a way to sell those stamps.
